Wi-Fi Battle Tower - Single Battle Tips
This is a guide (of sorts) to help anyone get through Rank One of the Battle Tower in Wi-Fi mode. This isn’t anything like a walkthrough, as it is the trainer’s decision on what moves to use that determine the outcome of the battle.

What to Expect: The thing about Wi-Fi is that a lot of the people online tend to rely on OU pokemon, along with the few ubers that are allowed. As such, expect to see a lot of Gengar, Garchomp, and Tyranitar. (If you manage to run into someone who has a UU/NU team, then you should be able to handle it on your own)

Who to Use: People online usually don’t use things like stealth rock or spikes right off, but it’s still best to start out with someone who has taunt to take care of those annoying Trick Room teams. (You can usually tell when it’s a TR team, as they typically start off with Bronzong.) Also, it’s nice to have someone with a good Fire-based attack out first to handle Scizor before it gets a chance to Swords Dance and Bullet punch you. Also get a grass move if possible to handle those water types that you’ll be seeing often.

A good choice for your second party member is someone with an Ice, Fighting, or Dark/Ghost move. The Ice move will handle those SUPER ANNOYING OU Dragon types, while the Fighting move (Usually Superpower or Close Combat) can take on any Dark, Rock, Normal, ETC. pokemon. Finally, that Dark/Ghost move is essential for guys like Gengar or Dusknoir. (Who are in just about EVERY room you’ll choose.)

Finally, for your last pokemon, you’ll definitely need a good Flying move and/or pokemon. The move will take care of Fighting types like Machamp and Grass types like Leafeon or Sceptile. If the pokemon is a Flying type (or someone with Levitate) you can use it to switch in on Earthquake, which is a common move in the Tower. If you have a Normal type on your team, you could fill the last slot with a Ghost type so as to switch it into Fighting moves aimed at your Normal type. If that’s the case, give it a Psychic move so you can take on the Fighting type as well.

Well, that’s the guide for the first rank of the Battle Tower. Thank you for reading this, and please continue to help the Dream League!
